Isthmia - Kalamaki
A place of glorious history, connecting the Corinthian Gulf (Posidonia) with the Saronic Gulf (Kalamaki or Schinounta).

Just 77km from Athens, the Isthmia area was the second most important sporting event not only in Greece but throughout the ancient world. It is in a central position, at the point where the Peloponnese joins Central Greece through the Canal, the largest technical project in our country in the 19th century.

The canal can be cruised by tourist boats, as well as there is the option of bungy jumping, and also during the last years SUP Crossing competitions have been organized. It is 6343m long and it's width is 246m.

There are numerous archaeological sites in the area:

- Temple of Poseidon

- Palimonas Sanctuary

- Theater

- Roman baths

- Caves

- Western aqueduct

- Circular well

The Isthmia Museum is located in the settlement of Kyra Vrisi Isthmia, while today's Isthmia village is built in a beautiful wooded environment, dominated by pine trees, with wonderful beaches for swimming, many taverns, restaurants and cafes. There are many hotels and camping sites in the area.

Access is easy as it is connected by highways to Athens, Loutraki, Patras, Epidaurus and Corinth, and guests can now use the suburban train that stops at Corinth or Agioi Theodoroi stations.
